Physiotherapy has been defined as concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, intervention and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional and social wellbeing.
Physiotherapy is performed by a Physiotherapist (P.T.) and sometimes services are provided by Physiotherapist Assistants (P.T.A.), Brandi Pfab, Veronica Berg, Kristen MacKinnon and Christina Haw are P.T.A’s at this facility acting the direction of the physiotherapist.
Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who treat individuals of all ages from newborns to the very oldest, particularly persons who have medical problems or health related conditions, illnesses or injuries that limits their abilities to move and perform functional activities as well as they would like in their daily lives.
There are many specialties within the profession of physiotherapy. At our facility the physiotherapist focuses on orthopaedic and neurological problems.
